The summer of 2017 has been full of fun experiences, long nights by the fire and a lot of dancing. But unfortunately everything has need to come to an end once, and it was time to end the summer. We have stepped into September, therefore we can look forward to the colorful leaves, chunky sweaters and extremely soft scarfs that remind me of my bed when I’m in school. I also can’t wait to light autumn scented candles and wear the boots I have bought over the summer. But let’s not forget the summer vibes so quickly, since it is only the very beginning of September and the weather is still gorgeous and sunny giving us plenty of time to hang out in the sun.
I have bought some new make up during this summer for festivals, for traveling or for when I needed something lighter when I’m running erands. I have collected my absolute favourites and decided to give you a review about them and my truthful opinion.
- The Body Shop: Tea Tree Pore Minimiser:
I actually went into The Body Shop to buy many more things and right a haul about those products, but I only came out with this, not because I wasn’t interested in anything else, I just realised I needed to pick up some more things. This products caught my eye because it contains tea tree oil and I love the scent of beauty cosmetics that contain it, plus it is a pore minimiser that I gladly accept. I like to apply it after my moisturiser, but before my foundation to use it as a primer aswell. The foundation sticks to it very well and smoothes out any blemishes and pores that we don’t want there. The skin feels really smooth after usage and gives a healthy, radiant glow. Fortunately, The Body Shop isn’t an expensive brand, so if you would like anything that is vegan and cheap, you will be able to find it there!
2. Maybelline: Fit Me Foundation:
I have written a review about the matte version of this foundation, which I love and use it often so I wanted to give the original one a try aswell. They say this one if for normal to dry skin, which means it is very hydrating and luminous. I always had dry skin, but lately I have been getting dry patches around my nose and on my chin and with this foundation, nothing can be seen from it. It heals it very nicely and covers up all the blemishes. It’s texture is very liquidy with a mid coverage that leaves the skin looking natural and dewy. This is one of my new favorite drugstore foundations for sure!
3. YSL: Touche Éclat:
I have been all about a natural look this summer and when I use the YSL Touche Éclat illuminator I can achieve a wonderful glow without it looking artificial and obvious how much highlighter I’ve got on. Some people like to use it as a concealer too, but it very light textured for giving extra coverage. Very creamy and it’s easy to blend it in with any foundation. This is definetely a product that will give you the ultimate natural dewyness that was very trendy this summer and will be for a very long time. I also believe you can find this gem in every professional make up artist’s bag, in addition I never heard anyone complain about it. Although it is a high end product, I do think you can invest a little more money in it.
4. Smashbox: Always Sharp Kohl Liner:
I am 100% an eyeliner girl, I just simply can’t stand liquid liners. Liquid liners always smudge by the end of the day and you have to have a lot of experience and practice to get a very straight flick. Because I am not a precise, I like using dark brown eyeliners that I can blend into my lashline to create the look of thicker lashes, plus it also defines my eye shape naturally. Sadly, pencil eyeliners don’t always stay put throughout the day either, so I went on a hunt for a waterproof one that I can call my new holy grail eyeliner. Thankfully, I found the Smashbox waterproof kohl liner that sharpens itself whenever you srew the top off, which is a great plus that you don’t have to worry about it being dull. Eventhough it is waterproof, it comes off easily with any makeup remover, you don’t have to rub your eyes, but it does stay until the very last minute of the day.
5: L’oreal: Paradise Extatic Mascara:
I think everyone has been going crazy about this mascara since the day L’oreal launched it. Everything about it is simply perfect, starting from the brush until the packaging. The bristles are very soft on your eye; it doesn’t feel rough, and it also seperates your lashes one by one coating them gently with the black liquid. The first coat is always very light, it doesn’t transfer a lot of product on your lashes, it mainly seperates, but adding a few more coats on will give you very long and dark lashes. Super sexy. It doesn’t have any fall down during the day and it also doesn’t smudge under my eyes giving me an ugly panda look that many other mascaras do. In my opinion the packaging is very sleek and elegant, and I am a big fan of the rose gold tones that L’oreal has been using recently. This is another wonderful drugstore product that you should get your hands on!
