Summer is all about festivals, having fun and enjoying the sun as much as possible. We dance all night and run around for drinks in this sweaty weather so us girls know how difficult it is to have your make up stay up all night. We constantly reapply our lipsticks and pack on some powder to reduce the shineyness on our nose. Sometimes the mascara will smudge under our eyes, and that is the worst that could happen. Since we all like to play around with make up and fashion during festivals, it is hard to find those products that work the best on our skin, that doesn’t cake up, is very long lasting and doesn’t smudge while we dance.
The last couple of years I have been experimenting with make up and glitter and many different looks, and I did come across some great products that became my favourite to use during summer festivals. All very shiney and colorful. And since I am going to a festival tomorrow I wanted to round up the best products that I have been loving the past couple of years.
- Bioderma Cicabio:
Originally I didn’t buy this cream as primer/sunscreen, but I had a large scar on my right leg and my mum recommended it to me because it helps heal the scarring and blemishes, in addition it has an SPF 50 that protects the skin from UV radiance and sunburns that could cause the wound to not heal properly and stay there forever. The other day I was reading the back of it and saw that it is a perfect base for make because it soothes the skin so I decided to give it a try and believe me, I was in love. My foundation lasted from morning till night and so did my bronzer, blush and highlight. It sticks other products to itself making the whole look more long lasting.
2. Stila Liquid Eyeshadow
These magnificent liquid eyeshadows are pure gold. They are so amazing on the eyes. The glitter eyeshadows stay on for quite a while, and the way they reflect the light is blinding. It looks gorgeous with every eye color and suits all types of skin tones too. It is very easy to apply with the small brush, but you may also use your fingers to dab it on carefully. You can create a simple look by only using a Stila Magneficent Liquid Eyeshadow, or a wild and sexy one where you do a smokey eye and apply the metallic eyeshadows at the very end.
3. Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer:
I love foundation from the bottom of my heart, but at festivals it’s better stay far from them. I think we have all been there. By the end of the night (or the beginning of the day) you won’t have any foundation on, but you will have a lot on your shirt or anywhere else other than your face. So I like to use a natural concealer, that has a higher coverage, but also blends in really well and for this, the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer is perfect for this occasion. It perfectly covers your under-eye circles and smoothes out any blemishes or spots!
4. A bright lipstick:
I was trying to think of a great lipstick to use during the festivals, but I couldn’t choose a shade and neither a brand, so I decided to list my two favourites. A festival is a great time to go wild on the lips and use some daring colors that you wouldn’t normally use on a regular day like bright red, dark plum, or maybe even blue (although personally I don’t think I could pull of the color blue). I have been loving the matte Brick Vintage shade from L’Oreal that is so long lasting and spot on for this time. I also love the shade Unique (956) from Dior. This lovely deep purple isn’t matte, infact it’s quite hydrating and has a creamy shine, but looks wonderful on the lips. I love using this during the day very lightly just by patting it on with my fingers, but during a festival it’s like it tells me to fully apply it.
5. Benefit Cosmetics Watt’s up! Highlighter:
I bought this cream highlighter back in March when I was in Spain in Sephora, because my best friend told me how much she loved it, so I thought I should give it a try aswell. Ever since that day, I have been using it every morning. It gives me a glow that you can’t decide whether it’s natural, or just a really amazing highlighter. It gives a look of freshness and healthy skin. It looks natural because of it’s creaminess and how well it blends into your foundation (or in my case concealer). I feel like a powder highlight that adds more shine, might make me look sweaty in a few hours, so I am sure I will reach out for this product the next week!
