Soft Glow For Summer

Doing your make up in the summer is always hard, because the weather is full of surprises; one minute it’s all sunny and humid, and then next it’s windy and chilly and your hair sticks into your lipgloss. But when you do your make up on a cool morning with a full coverage foundation and cream contour, it will definitely melt off by midday. So in conclusion, you can barely do your make up spot on during the summer while using the best products possible. We all suffer. But no worries, I have found some great products that worked out really well for me and did not leave me disappointed. I also created a new routine for myself that works the majority of the time this warm season so keep on reading if you would like to find out more about it!

So I’m not a big fan of a foundation during summer, a very lightweight is great, but if my skin is clear and looking good, I like to only wear concealer under my eyes and some on my forehead to get rid of darkness around my eyes and smooth out any blemishes. But on an even better day, I don’t use any foundation or concealer. If the sun is shining very bright and the UV is high, I wouldn’t recommed using any of these types of make up because it can seep into your skin and you might get a blotchy tan aswell. And don’t forget to apply sunscreen before apply anything!

Putting sunscreen on your face will also help you brush out your contour if you prefer using cream contour. For example I have been loving the Dior Contour Stick for months now, but it would be a challenge blending it in on my dry skin, so instead of brushing on foundation before the contour, I use a moisturizer that contains SPF the prevents sunburns and keeps my skin hydrated throughout the day. For this I love using the Murad Perfecting Day Cream with SPF 30 that adds a light glow while protecting my skin.

Next I lightly apply my contour with my Dior Stick and blend it in with a brush. Using a cream contour is much more natural looking than a powder one, it picks up the texture of your skin and gives you a wonderful sun kissed look that everyone would like to see when they look in the mirror. This make up item has been loved by many make up artists whom keep it in their bag for any everyday use, so you won’t have to worry about not loving the product. Very blendable and it does not smudge even in the hottest weather. In addition you get a great amount of product for it’s price!

For more glowiness don’t be afraid to use a powder bronzer. If you do a full face and coverage make up look, using a powder bronzer would make it look cakey and unnatural, but without any foundation and transluscent powder, this combination is just fine. My favourite bronzer currently is the Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess that has been loved not only by me, but many other bloggers from around the world. The very light shimmer in it adds a lovely dewyness that we have all been loving in 2017. And with the cream contour combo, it gives such a lovely tanned look, as if you just arrived from a vacation in the Bahamas.

I have always loved eye make up and I did not want to give it up because of the hot weather plus I need it for my glowy look. To keep everything simply and cute I have been reaching for my Smashbox palette. I use the lightest warm, matte shade in my crease and under my waterline to add definition (the shade next to the white on the left). If you would like a stronger eye look go ahead and use the darker shades too. Next apply the top-middle shimmery shade under the brows and in the middle of your eyelid. Finish off this simple eye look with a bit of mascara.

Lastly, use the other side of the contour stick to add the unmissable highlight that has to be on the top of the cheeckbones every single day. This is the key to finish off a glowy look, plus if you use a right shade it will make your tan look much more intense. To acheive the best look, swipe down the highlighter down the bridge of your nose and use it on your cupid’s bow too to make your lips appear plumper.

Finally, use a nude shade of lipstick, I prefer Mac’s Mocha shade that isn’t entirely matte, but slightly creamy that also hydrates my lips. It is the perfect shade for any everyday summer use.
