We had been thinking about visiting Vienna since the end of summer, but only now had we gotten the chance to actually drive over because of the autumn break. Our plan was to shop for two days and walk around the city on the other two days. So we barely packed our suitcases Friday night, we knew we needed the space for when we come back with all the new clothes, and set off Saturday morning. We got the in three hours and was already at our hotel around noon, then as soon as possible, we left for the Shopping City Center. I bought plenty of new jeans, jackets and shirts, that I will hopefully be able to show you in a different (haul) post. After shopping until closing time, we headed back home and got ready for dinner. We found a lovely Italian restaurant next to the hotel, so we quickly ordered some calamari with great champaign.
Next day, after having a delicious breakfast, we headed out to have a look at the city. I have been to Vienna several times before and it never disappoints me. It’s very clean, the buildings still have their vibe from when they were built, but mixed with the modern style. We walked so much that we had to stop quite occasionally to have a rest so we ate in really fine restaurants and confectioneries where we could try out the traditional foods.
We also visited the Leopold Museum where we bought tickets for the Gustav Klimt Exhibition. This gallery had shown many paintings from Gustav Klimt and plenty other artists’ aswell, in addition, they had a small biography of the artist’s.
On the third day, we went back to shopping again, and basically spent the whole day trying on clothes, and walking from shop to shop. I wasn’t complaining. I bought plenty of new jeans, sweaters, shirts, and some workout clothes aswell. We had lunch in Vapiano, one of our favourite restaurants, where I had a ceasar salad. At the end of the day, my parents found a really great restaurant, but unfortuantely there were no tables left for us, so we went on a search for another one. We ended up finding a really lovely and cosy restaurant, very traditional and it had heavenly smells coming from the inside. For that night I wore some white jeans from Calvin Klein, a dark green shirt from Zara which I paired with a scarf. I also wore a lipstick from Christian Dior (956), which I had written a review about a while ago.
We spent the last day walking around the city, visiting the Schonbrunn Palace, we had a look at the castle aswell. We were walking so much, my legs were aching for days after this small trip, but it was definitely worth it. While at the Schonbrunn Palace, we went into this “Palm Tree House”, where they had mediterranean plants, then into the “Desert House” which had plenty of cacti and small animals that live in the desert.
All in all, it was a wonderful experience, where I could make so many new memories. I ate a lot of different typical dishes, seen many beautiful buildings, and bought some new fave jeans! I recommend Vienna to anyone who want a vacation for the weekend, with friends or the family!
