My friend and I have gone shopping a few days ago, and we went inside The Body Shop to have a quick lok at their offers. We always go in and smell all the lotions and try out a few make-up products, but we never end up buying anything, so I decided to buy some thing finally. I asked for some help from the lady at the front desk, since I thought it would be smarter to ask for some advice from a professional. She helped me choose a face cream, a BB cream and I also picked up a highlighter. I was looking for something that I could wear during the summer, something light that doesn’t harm my skin if the sun shines on it. She helped me choose the Vitamin E BB Cream, Vitamin E Moisture Cream, and the Honey Bronze Highlighter.
The Vitamin E BB Cream really disappointed me. This product seemed pretty sketchy to me at first, so I was hesitant when I bought it, but I never came across a good BB cream before, so I just went with it. Unfortunately, it is really oily and makes my skin look shiny. In addition this clogged my pores and I had break-outs after using this product once. It’s coverage is bad too, I would need a lot of product to atleast reduce the redness around my nose and cover up some of the darkness under my eyes, but the more I used, the worse I looked. Also, this should pick up the color of your skin and blend in with your skin, therefore you can only buy it one shade. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. I wish I could say something good about it, but I can’t.
The Vitamin E Moisture Lotion was slightly better, but this definetly won’t be my favourite face cream either. It does make my skin oily too, but not as bad as the BB cream. It also sinks in my face after a while and gets better with some time, but I don’t want to wait for any moisturiser to sink in. I want to apply my foundation quickly, nobody has time to wait for this. Although, during the summer when I’m not wearing any make-up, I would put some on becuase it has SPF 15, which helps against the sun, and I’d rather put this on than an oily sun cream to clog my pores. So I think, I will use it up this summer, but I won’t repurchase it.
The Honey Bronze Highlighter really surprised me after these two face creams. I wasn’t expecting anything mind blowing, but this was really amazing. It has a very light shimmer, but still looks natural. It gives a glowy, fresh, dewy look. The first day I wore it people told me how great I looked, but they couldn’t tell what was different. In my opinion, all make up should give off this vibe. It is long lasting, which makes me love it even more. It has a creamy texture, but is still powdery. I apply it straight from the bottle, and pat it with my fingers to blend it a little, but it can be blended with a brush too. It pretty much has the same finish as the Mac Mineralize Skinfinish highlighters but way cheaper!
All in all, I may not have loved all these product but at least I found a new favourite highlighter for a very good price! The BB Cream might have not worked for my skin type, so tell me if it had worked out for you!
